Why Is it Called Bywater Street?
Bywater Street is a quiet cul-de-sac in the heart of London, unsurprisingly near the Thames. It’s also the fictional home of George Smiley, the master spy at the center of John le Carré’s world of intelligence and intrigue.
Smiley is our unofficial mascot: unassuming but relentless, modest but brilliant, a leader at core yet incredibly capable on his own in the field. He defies every cliché of the espionage genre with an obsession over detail, jaw-dropping powers of perception, and choices that are somehow both bold and prudent.
What’s with the Random Website Pics?
Here’s the problem: Business services don’t really conjure up anything visually interesting.
Most business faced with this problem resort to generic stock images of strangers smiling around conference tables. We hate this approach: it’s not distinctive, visually interesting, or authentic.
So instead, every photo on our website has personal relevance to — and was taken by — a member of the Bywater Street team. If you’re curious to know more, just ask.
